Extremely rare complete set of 6 volumes. Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, 1931-63. First edition. In-4 & Folio, 1-30, 31-64 & 65-106 plates. Softcover & cloth. The three text volumes are bound in printed paper wrappers. The exterior of the first volume shows moderate chipping and some tearing at the edges, as well as scattered faint soiling. The second and third volumes display minor chipping of the wrappers. All three exhibit mild age toning. The bindings are sound. The preliminary and final pages of the first volume display light scattered foxing. The remaining pages of these volumes are clean and bright. The large plate portfolios have printed paper covers, with tan cloth backstrips and cloth ties at the edges. There is moderate rubbing and toning concentrated at the extremities. The portfolios contain plates I-XXX, XXXI to LXIV and LXV to CVI. The black-and-white plates show mild age toning and occasional light smudging. A splendid set. Language: English.
