A work on Egyptian tombs, including tomb discoveries, contents found inside including art and mummies, and a discussion on embalming. Collated and complete: v, [1, blank], 89, [1, blank]. Engraved frontispiece. 2. Illustrations of Egyptian Antiquities.Author unknown. Discussion on mummies, papyrus, Egyptian gods, sacred animals and objects, hieroglyphics and art. Collated and complete: [iv], 47, [1] blank [2] plate description and the errata slip. Fold-out plate. Bound in later Bayntun-Rivière 1/2 polished brown calf: two spine bands and gilt spine lettering, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Exterior and binding: firm hinges and joints, tight pages, sharp corners. Calf is glossy and fresh. A few areas of rubbing to joints, corners and spine. Gilt work in excellent shape. Interior: Pages are clean and bright and gently toned. No writing, ex libris marks or bookplates. Toning of plates. Foxing on second work's fold-out plate and adjacent pages.
