Extremely rare first edition. Ex typographia Iosephi De Franceschis, Bononiae, 1814. Folio (366 x 245 mm), quarter calf binding. 32 plates engraved on copper. spine and borders of binding are damaged with wormholes, not affecting text nor plates, inside very good. The work was only published in 1814, about twenty years after the death of the author. The work renders the vast and erudite Etruscological knowledge of Biancani Tazzi. It was published thanks to the intervention of Filippo Schiassi, guardian of the Museum of Antiquity, who almost faithfully copied the manuscripts of Biancani Tazzi, adding to the savant apparatus some of his linguistic considerations on the readings of the names imprinted on the pateres and on some mythographic interpretation. The book's first part is a conference held in 1808 at the Regio Archiginnasio of Filippo Schiassi, who held the Chair of Archaeology.
