Dishashah
Site of an Old Kingdom (about 2686-2181 BC) cemetery (about 130 km south of modern Cairo, on the west side of the Nile). Flinders Petrie excavated here in 1898 tombs belonging to the late Old Kingdom. Some of the rock cut tombs are famous for their decoration. Smaller tombs found at the site still contained many important objects, such as the two garments in the Petrie Museum.
